Gold Guard
Gold Guard has been removed from the game as of the 17th of December 2024.
Gold Guard may still exist in the game's code, though it is no longer officially used in-game. This page has been preserved for historical purposes.
Description
The Gold Guard was a large guardian enemy exclusive to Golden mode. The Gold Guard always spawned before the Gold Titan. Its main purpose was to protect the Gold Titan.
It could impale towers with its trident, stunning them for a brief period of time. It had Freeze Immunity, making it impossible to freeze and chill, and the Stun Immunity, making it impossible to knock back and making it only get slowed down by stuns.
Appearance
The Gold Guard was made entirely of gold, with a light yellow dominus, pauldrons and a trident. The pauldrons were skull-shaped and had glowing neon eyes. It also wore a light-yellow robe and had light yellow wings. The Gold Guard was faceless, and its head was glowing neon.
Strategy
- Despite the common sense of taking the Gold Guards down first, they are not too much of a threat given their inferior attacks when compared to the Gold Titan. However, they will reach the exit first, so keep that in mind.
- In any case, it is a good idea to take these down before all attacking towers switch to the Gold Titan.
- Golden Guards spawn in a group of three, but as they have splash damage immunity, you will have to take down these enemies one by one.
- Due to their high DPS, Minigunners, Outlaws and Turrets are excellent options against these enemies.
- Try not to group towers together so that the Gold Guard cannot stun all of your towers at once.
- It is also advised to place them further away from the path to ensure the Gold Guard is unable to attack them.
- The Medic's ability can cleanse towers stunned by Gold Guard, provided that the Medic is not stunned itself.
- You cannot use the Freezer (including its Ice Age ability) or the Frost Blaster to slow this down. If you want to slow this down, you will need to use the Electroshocker or Pyromancer.
- Be aware that the Electroshocker will only slow the Gold Guard down by 15% as opposed to the 30% experienced by regular enemies.
