Description

The Mega Slow is an enemy which only appears on Hardcore mode. While it has below average speed, it has very high health for its debut. This makes it a very dangerous threat. Additionally, it has 15% defense, reducing the effectiveness of most towers. It also has energy immunity, meaning that it cannot be stopped by the Electroshocker.

The Mega Slow can be spawned by the Void Reaver and Grave Digger, in Hardcore mode only. The Mystery Boss can also spawn the Mega Slow upon its death in Hardcore mode.

Appearance

The Mega Slow is shorter than the Giant Boss. It has a reflective green skin and is faceless. It has tumors on its left arm and on its head. Its torso, sleeves and legs are granite black. It also has a metal armband on its right arm and a growing hook on its right shoulder. It also has a small black axe stabbed into its back. It walks slightly hunchbacked.

Strategy

• Because of the Mega Slow's early appearance and the increased prices of towers and upgrades in Hardcore mode, it may be the downfall of most players if they are unprepared for it.
  • For this reason, Farms are heavily recommended so that you will be able to afford more expensive upgrades sooner.
  • Additionally, if you got a lot of Lead Bosses from Mysteries on the previous wave, the Mega Slow's debut wave can be your stopping point.
• It is best to place a Level 3 Ranger and set the targeting to Strongest, dealing only with the Mega Slow before moving to other enemies.
• The Military Base's Tanks and Humvee 3s can be effective against this zombie, as units ignore defense when they collide with enemies. Once the Mega Slow begins to spawn in large hordes, however, their effectiveness is reduced.
• Level 3 Snipers are somewhat effective against the Mega Slow because of its long range and cheap price to upgrade.
• Toxic Gunner is recommended to slow down this boss due to its cheap cost and very effective slow down.
  • The Freezer, Sledger and Frost Blaster can also slow this boss down, allowing your towers to attack the Mega Slow for a longer period of time.
    • Be aware that, due to the Mega Slow's large size, it can only be slowed down for a shorter period of time compared to an average-sized enemy.
    • The Electroshocker can only slow the Mega Slow for a very short period of time due to its large size and energy immunity.
      • All three towers can also remove up to 20% Mega Slow's defense, allowing your towers to deal even more damage.
        • This can stack, so the Freezer/Frost Blaster and Electroshocker can together remove up to 40% of its defense.
        • The Pyromancer can also remove 50% of Mega Slow's defense, allowing your towers to deal even more damage.

Trivia

• The appearance of the Mega Slow is similar to the old design of Boss4 from Tower Battles.
• Weirdly, the health of the Mega Slow is increased in MEGA Servers, despite it not being able to spawn in a MEGA Server without admin commands.
• When the Mega Slow is frozen by the Sledger prior the the 23th of March 2022, it has a chance to create a huge wall of ice.
