Description

The Gunslinger is the Final Boss of Badlands II, replacing the Fallen King.

Although it moves slowly, it has an extreme amount of health and many abilities that can stun several towers and destroy units, making it one of the most difficult challenges in the game. Additionally, the Gunslinger is immune to being stunned by the Electroshocker, being frozen by the Freezer, the Frost Blaster and the Sledger, and being slowed down by the Toxic Gunner. It stops moving when performing its abilities.

The Gunslinger spawns only on the middle path on Wave 40, ignoring the All Paths Modifier.

Appearance

Gunslinger appears to have a metallic body and a skull as its head, it wears two bandoliers with bullets attached to them, a black cowboy hat and uses two futuristic black and gold revolvers to shoot Towers.

The Gunslinger has a coffin-shaped backpack where it holds its Gatling gun, which opens up when the Gatling gun ability is used.

Strategy

  • The Gunslinger cannot be slowed down by most towers.
    • The Electroshocker can only slow down the Gunslinger for a negligible amount of time due to its large size and energy immunity.
    • It is also immune to being frozen by the Freezer, the Frost Blaster and the Sledger, due to its freeze immunity.
    • The Toxic Gunner cannot slow this down because of its poison immunity, it can be however useful against the enemies that spawns before it.
  • The Gunslinger is accompanied by twelve Cavalry. They are always in front of the Gunslinger. They should be fought first since they are faster than the Gunslinger.
  • Accelerators, Turrets, Engineers, Golden Minigunners, and Rangers are recommended against the Gunslinger, as their high damage is required to take down the high health of the Gunslinger.
    • The Ranger is immune to stuns from all the Gunslinger's abilities, making it very useful against Gunslinger.
  • Make sure to sell any Farms to maximize the number of towers attacking the Gunslinger. They do not produce any income anymore, count towards your tower limit, and can be replaced by a more useful tower.
    • In Badlands, you will be left with more than enough money if sell your farms a few waves before wave 40, due to the high amount of enemies that spawn. However, if you sell at wave 40, you have less time to manage your towers to deal with the Gunslinger.
    • Cowboy and Golden Cowboy can still produce income, so you can keep them if you need more cash for your towers. However, this is generally not necessary, as you will get a lot of cash from damaging enemies and the Gunslinger itself.
    • Though Farms can't give any more cash on the final wave, you might want to keep a few of them on the map for baiting out stun attacks from the Gunslinger and the Cavalry.

Trivia

  • The Badlands Cowboy skin is heavily based on this enemy.
  • The Gunslinger's second ability name "Spray n Pray" is a reference to a first-person shooter tactic where you wildly unload the ammo magazine of an automatic weapon in hope that at least a couple of bullets will come in contact with the opposition.
  • This is one of the few bosses to have its health increased over the updates. Others being Fallen King and Lord Sinister.
