*The Amalgamation is extremely dangerous when it first debuts. Major preparations must be made multiple waves before it spawns.
*Fast firerate towers are not always the best solution to kill the Amalgamation.
*High DPS towers are required to take the Amalgamation down. A DJ Booth and Commander help massively.
**This is because if the Amalgamation is left unharmed for a while (such as going around corners not in the range of any tower), it will heal all of its health back.
**Placement is key; if given any breathing room, the Amalgamation will heal up all the damage it's taken. Ensure your towers cover as much path as possible.
**Later on during the game, you should have sufficient DPS to deal with hordes of Amalgamations.
***The Ranger with its long range can be good for this. The DJ Booth also boosts range.
*Rangers, in small numbers, are weak against the Amalgamation due to their slow firerate as, between shots, the Amalgamation can heal back the damage.
**However, several Level 3 Rangers, combined with Commander's Call to Arms ability, can kill the Amalgamation.
**The Swarmer's Beehive Grenade, when stacked, can take the Amalgamation out.
**The Farm should be used to get these towers.
*The Military Base's Tank and Railgun Tank are somewhat good against the Amalgamation due to their collision damage dealing a quick burst of high damage.
**However, these units must collide with the Amalgamation at the same time so that it does not have time to heal back the damage dealt.
*The Military Base can be surprisingly good at dealing with the Amalgamation. The Tank and Railgun Tank do massive collision damage, and with enough of them the Amalgamation can be defeated.
**This requires multiple players to commit to using the Military Base.
*Try to concentrate all of your damage at once. Spreading out your damage output will result in the Amalgamation being able to heal back the lost health.
*Unlike the Giant Boss, the Amalgamation can be slowed down by the Electroshocker.
*Slowing towers can be beneficial considering the Amalgamation's fast speed.
*Later on in the game, Amalgamations may still pose a threat, especially when spawned in excess from Mystery Bosses and boosted by Circuits.
**The Freezer and Frost Blaster can also help slow down this boss, allowing your towers to attack it for a longer period of time.
**By this point, many high DPS towers, inclusive of Accelerators and Rangers, should have been placed down. There should also be chaining of the Commander's Call to Arms, and a DJ Booth boosting every single tower.
*Several Level 5 Swarmers can easily take this out when it first appears, when their abilities are used concurrently to cancel out the Amalgamation's healing ability.
*Make sure that your towers cover most of the map as the Amalgamation can regain health if it is out of the range of towers.
*A Level 5 Accelerator, combined with the Commander's Call to Arms ability, can kill the Amalgamation quickly.

"Get ready for a GIANT boss!"
―Beginning of Wave 22 (Pre-Overhaul, Polluted Wasteland Fallen)

Description

The Amalgamation was an enemy that only appeared in Polluted Wasteland, replacing the Giant Boss. While replacing the Giant Boss whenever it was meant to spawn in Fallen mode in Polluted Wasteland, the Amalgamation was much faster than the Giant Boss while also having 3,000 more health. In addition, the Amalgamation had a constant health regeneration ability, which made it hard to kill without teamwork.

The Amalgamation used to spawn from the Mystery Boss upon its death in Polluted Wasteland Fallen mode only.

Appearance

The Amalgamation's appearance was similar to the second version of the Tank (with even more likeness to the removed Tank 2). It had regular arms and red skin. Its torso was slightly bloated and tumors could be seen on its left arm and back. The Amalgamation had black diamond-plated legs with bones sticking out of its arms. It also had a happy drooling face with red glowing eyes. It had the same walking animation as the Wasted Boss. The Amalgamation emitted healing particles every time it healed.

Strategy

  • The Amalgamation is extremely dangerous when it first debuts. Major preparations must be made multiple waves before it spawns.
  • High DPS towers are required to take the Amalgamation down. A DJ Booth and Commander help massively.
    • Placement is key; if given any breathing room, the Amalgamation will heal up all the damage it's taken. Ensure your towers cover as much path as possible.
      • The Ranger with its long range can be good for this. The DJ Booth also boosts range.
    • The Swarmer's Beehive Grenade, when stacked, can take the Amalgamation out.
    • The Farm should be used to get these towers.
  • The Military Base can be surprisingly good at dealing with the Amalgamation. The Tank and Railgun Tank do massive collision damage, and with enough of them the Amalgamation can be defeated.
    • This requires multiple players to commit to using the Military Base.
  • Slowing towers can be beneficial considering the Amalgamation's fast speed.
  • Later on in the game, Amalgamations may still pose a threat, especially when spawned in excess from Mystery Bosses and boosted by Circuits.
    • By this point, many high DPS towers, inclusive of Accelerators and Rangers, should have been placed down. There should also be chaining of the Commander's Call to Arms, and a DJ Booth boosting every single tower.
