Null Engineer was previously removed from the game on the 26th of November 2025 as it was part of the Null & Void Event, though it has been made available through the Sandbox mode.
It is not accessible anywhere else in the game, aside from in Sandbox Mode. This page will attempt to include information about both the version before removal and its re-added version.
Description
The Null Engineer, internally referred to as the Corrupted Engineer, was a tanky enemy that appeared in the Null & Void Event. It was the first Boss enemy the player encounters. It had a high amount of health and a decent amount of Defense, though it walks rather slowly. It has two abilities, both of which used to weaken towers and units.
The first ability is Rebar Launcher, where the Null Engineer targets either a tower, which results in it getting stunned for 1 seconds, or a random unit, which leads to it receiving 3,000 damage. The other ability is Null Mechanism, where it creates a Null Sentry on the path. This Null Sentry will debuff a random. Both abilities have a range of 20, meaning they will not be used if there is no tower in range.
Logbook Description
"When the Null Engineer emerged from the tear it caught Engineer's attention. She watched as the creature placed down a turret identical to her own. Engineer's jaw tightened as she pulled down her goggles. "Cheap knockoff," she muttered, goggles guiding her own turret as it whirred to life."
Appearance
The Null Engineer is a corrupted recreation of the Engineer. It has red skin and grey hair. Its left arm has been replaced with a prosthetic arm. It wears a black shirt, maroon overalls with yellow buttons, grey bandages, black shoes and a black glove. On its head, it wears a red hard hat with goggles on top. On its back, it has a small radio.
With its right arm, it wields a rebar launcher which it uses to stun towers and damage units, while in its left, it holds a wrench used to make Null Sentries.
Event Strategy
As this enemy only appears through Sandbox mode, no strategy section is made for its current version. Instead, a strategy section for the one that appeared without Sandbox mode in Blind Faith is listed instead.
- High DPS towers like the Ranger, Pursuit, Turret or Accelerator are recommended to take this down.
- As the Null Engineer initially spawns as a Boss, most forms of stalling are ineffective against it and it cannot have its Defense reduced.
- For all of its future appearances, it only has the Stun Immunity, meaning it cannot be knocked back and stuns will only slow it down.
