Rift Walker
Sandbox Only Content

Rift Walker was previously removed from the game on the 26th of November 2025 as it was part of the Null & Void Event, though it has been made available through the Sandbox mode.
It is not accessible anywhere else in the game, aside from in Sandbox Mode. This page will attempt to include information about both the version before removal and its re-added version.

Lord Exo on Wave 30 (Blind Faith)

Description

[edit]

The Rift Walker was a major boss that appeared in Blind Faith as part of the Null & Void Event. It had far higher health than the Null Guardian and walks far slower than it. As it is a Boss enemy, most stalls are either weaker on it or do not work on it at all.

The Rift Walker has seven abilities:

  1. Null Bubbles, which fires three bubbles at towers. These apply a 25% Range Debuff to any tower in it.
  2. Dimensional Shift, where the Rift Walker targets four towers, swapping their positions. Additionally, a map-wide 30% Range Debuff will be applied to every tower, lasting the entire match.
  3. Null Invasion, which has the Rift Walker create rifts to the Nil Zone, summoning in six enemies per each path. These can be the Null Engineer, Null Warden and Null Brawler.
  4. Null Beam makes the Rift Walker fire purple beams at towers and units, stunning them for 3 seconds and dealing 2,000 damage to units.
  5. Lord Exo Attack, which makes Lord Exo come out of the Rift Walker, striking the base and dealing damage equal to 50% of the max base health, accounting for the max possible Medic overheal but not the Skills overheal. This can be stopped with the Star Cannon.
  6. Ancient Anger, a rage mode ability activated at 60% health. When activated, the walk animation will change and it will unlock its Dimensional Discharge ability.
  7. Dimensional Discharge has the Rift Walker apply a random debuff to every tower on the map. This can be either a Range Debuff, Firerate Debuff or Damage Debuff, all with a value of 20% and duration of 10.

Logbook Description

[edit]

"The Rift Walker is an[sic] being who helped create the Meta with his master. Together, they maintain the balance of the realms, and will destroy any who threaten it. The Rift Walker is powerful enough to rival greatest enemies from the Old World, and his judgment is absolute. He is known to be strict, for if he fails, everyone from all realities will end up in the Nil Zone."

Appearance

[edit]

The Rift Walker has black skin and purple neon eyes. Due to being possessed by Lord Exo, its torso has an exposed grey ribcage. It wears a purple robe and shoes. On its head, it wears a black hat with a purple gem on it. It has a black crow mask with purple bandages wrapped around its beak. It holds a purple and black staff.

Event Strategy

[edit]

As this enemy only appears through Sandbox mode, no strategy section is made for its current version. Instead, a strategy section for the one that appeared without Sandbox mode in Blind Faith is listed instead.

  • High DPS towers like the Accelerator, Turret, Ranger or Warlock are required against the Rift Walker.
    • Stun immune towers can be helpful as they cannot get stunned by it, though since a lot of its abilities apply debuffs, they are not completely immune to its attacks.
    • The Commander, DJ Booth and Mercenary Base should be used to boost the statistics of your towers.
      • As multiple of its abilities apply debuffs, these can also be helpful at partially mitigating the effects of the debuffs.
  • The Rift Walker's Lord Exo Attack ability deals damage to the base health when finished, meaning that the Rift Walker can easily kill the players.
    • This can be stopped with the Star Cannon, as using it during its ability stops the ability entirely. This should be done when the map starts turning yellow and Lord Exo comes out of the Rift Walker's body.
      • It is highly recommended to wait a few seconds after this happens, so you can stall out the Rift Walker for as long as possible.
    • Do note that if The Fool curse was selected, the base health will be set to 1, meaning any use of it will end the match instantly if the Star Cannon is not used to stop it.
    • It is not possible to use the Medic's overheal to give yourself the ability to tank more shots, as the ability accounts for that. However, it does not account for the overheal from Skills, meaning that this can be used.
      • Because of this, with Skills overheal, it is entirely possible to avoid building the Star Cannon in the Easy difficulty, as even by just investing Error creating thumbnail: File missing 6,245 total into the Level 13 Over-Heal Skill, it is possible to tank two more shots than usual. Additionally, the Rift Walker is much weaker, so you can easily kill it before it deals enough damage to kill your base.

Trivia

[edit]
  • The Rift Walker is the first enemy to be able to freely summon enemies anywhere on the path, specifically through its Null Invasion ability.
  • The Rift Walker has the most base health out of any enemy in the game's history, boasting a massive 2,500,000 health.
    • If the Death curse is active, it would reach a total of 5,000,000 health from the Bloated modifier, surpassing the Conserver's previous record of 3,900,100 if not all the Super Computer Parts were collected.
      • Technically, the Conserver could reach 7,800,200 if it was applied the Bloated modifier, but this was not possible to do in-game through normal means, unlike the Bloated Rift Walker which is possible if the Death curse is active on the final wave.
  • The Rift Walker is unaffected by enemy appearance modifiers, such as Talk Like a Pirate Day.
