Strategy

edit
  • The Scout is mainly used as an early-game tower and does not perform well in other conditions.
    • Past the Slow Boss in Normal and Molten modes, and past the Dark Necromancer in Fallen mode, the Scout becomes excessively weak against the enemies that spawn, mainly due to its minimal DPS.
    • The Soldier and Demoman (towers that are extremely cheap to unlock) are far better later on during the game compared to the Scout.
      • Additionally, the Sniper can be unlocked immediately when you first play the game. While it may not be as good as the aforementioned towers, it can be a good upgrade for the Scout later on during a game.
  • The Scout has cheap hidden detection. This means that the Scout can be used to defend against hidden enemies while you can work in getting more expensive towers and upgrades.
  • The Scout can be used as a cheap way to distract enemies like the Molten Boss from using their abilities on more useful towers.
    • This strategy could be risky however, as due to the placement limit, you may not be able to place better towers.
    • The Farm is a better alternative as it also gains you cash after each wave passes.
  • The Golden Scout is one of, if not the best tower early on during the game and even mid way during the game due to its high increase in damage. For Normal and Molten modes, this can also be a very cheap and viable end-game tower.
  • The DJ Booth can reduce the Golden Scout's increased upgrade costs, however the discount buff will be half as effective. For example, it will cost  $1,800 to upgrade a Golden Scout to Level 4 with a 20% discount buff instead of the expected  $1,600.

Trivia

edit
  • The Scout's name, appearance and function is loosely based on the Tower Battles version of the same name.
  • The Scout and Sniper are the only towers that a player unlocks for free when they first play Tower Defense Simulator.
  • The Scout has the lowest placement cost in the game.
