Description
The Liberator is an endgame ground tower that fires in bursts and uses stratagems. It can be bought for
The Liberator uses an ammo system, needing to reload after expending all of its ammunition. It is a slightly cheap tower, while it isn't recommended to use it for the main defense earlier waves, it can be used to assist other towers in the early game. It gains hidden detection at Level 2, so it is an effective counter against Hidden enemies and starts with flying detection, making it quite the versatile unit.
The Liberator is a early-late game tower, meaning it very flexible on all stages of the game.
The Liberator also uses a unique system for it's placement limit. For each player in the match that has the Liberator, the placement limit will change.
1 Player w/ Liberator: 4 Liberators per player.
2 Player w/ Liberator: 2 Liberators per player.
3 Player w/ Liberator: 2 Liberators for one player and 1 Liberator for the remaining 2 players.
4 Player w/ Liberator: 1 per player.
After Level 3 and onwards, the Liberator now uses Stratagems that the player can utilize to either support their team or for more offensive firepower. Each level introduces a new stratagem and on Level 6, all Stratagems are enhanced. However, be careful as you are unable to use other stratagems after using one for a duration, so use them carefully. You are not able to bypass the cooldowns as the Stratagem cooldowns will still apply for the tower.
The stratagems are:
- At Level 3, gain the Orbital Precision Strike Stratagem which quickly deals powerful splash damage (albeit the radius is quite small). At Level 6, this is changed to the Orbital Railcannon Strike Stratagem, this trades of splash damage for massive damage and a stun on a single enemy.
- At Level 4, gain the Guard Dog Stratagem which summons a drone that constantly tracks and shoots down enemies around the map, this grows stronger the more Guard Dogs that are present. At Level 6, the Guard Dog's bullets now bounce to up to 2 enemies.
- At Level 5, gain the Shield Generator Stratagem which blocks all stuns from enemies for all towers nearby. At Level 6, the shield now increases the damage for towers inside the shield every time an enemy attempts to stun said tower.
- At Level 6, gain the 500KG Bomb Stratagem which does massive damage in a wide radius, however it takes a long time for the bomb to arrive, this can be sped up by other Liberators using the same Stratagem.

Review
The Liberator is an exceptionally strong tower with high support capabilities, but with a price of needing to 'git gud' and have a competent team. The Liberator uses the regular ammo system with a dynamic placement limit similar to the Mercenary Base, where all four Liberators is split between the players. They also have their own exclusive mechanic of Stratagems, which can turn the tide of a battle.
The first Stratagem the Liberator receives is the Orbital Precision Strike which works similar to the Airstrike ability that the Military Base uses, albeit slightly weaker early on. This sends out, as the name suggests, a strong precision strike at your preferred area. This attack does high damage at the time you get it, bypassing defense with a small bonus of splash damage, this Stratagem can be used to kill any enemies that leak through your defense (though do be careful when trying to catch a fast enemy, as the Stratagem has a slight delay before it hits, which can lead it to missing the target) or to kill specific enemies such as the Fallen Jester. At Level 6, this Stratagem is replaced by the Orbital Railcannon Strike which weakens its splash damage and removes its ability to be used wherever the player wants for massive damage on a single enemy (and possibly hitting extra enemies if they're crammed enough) with an added bonus of a stun. This Stratagem locks onto the strongest enemy on the path, leading it to no longer being able to catch leaks.
The second Stratagem the Liberator receives on Level 4 is the Guard Dog that acts similarly to the Pursuit, temporarily circling around the enemy farthest on the track. The drone will shoot in bursts and grows stronger the more Guard Dogs that are present on the field. This Stratagem grows exponentially stronger as each Guard Dog buffs each other, at Max Level, just two Guard Dogs buff each other by 10%, totaling to 633.2 DPS, 3 Guard Dogs buff each other by 20%, totaling to 1050 DPS and finally, at 4 Guard Dogs buff each other by 30% which totals to a whopping 1533.32 DPS. However, keep in mind that the Guard Dog only lasts for a duration before deactivating and beginning the Stratagem Cooldown.
At Level 6, the Guard Dog's bullets now bounce to up to 2 extra enemies, which makes a single Guard Dog do an amazing 900 DPS in total (assuming 2 other enemies are present). This Stratagem is a strong choice for crowd control and map-wide damage.
The third Stratagem the Liberator receives on Level 5 is the Shield Generator which creates a barrier that protects towers inside from being stunned for a duration. At Level 6, the Shield Generator now gives damage buffs to stun vulnerable towers for each time the Shield Generator blocks a stun, giving 4% and maxing out a massive 60% damage buff, this pairs extremely well with towers like Accelerator and Minigunner as their biggest weakness were stuns, but now with the Shield Generator they can use it to their advantage.
The final Stratagem the Liberator receives on Level 6 is the Eagle 500KG Bomb which, as the name suggests, drops a bomb on the enemies for massive AOE damage. 10K damage with a huge AOE radius may sound broken at first, but you have to consider multiple things before you use it. The call time of 30 seconds means it could miss it's intended target or hit no enemies at all by the time it arrives, so time it very carefully, you could also speed up the call time from other Liberators if they are not on Cooldown. Other Liberators using the Stratagem during the Stratagem's call time speed up the call time, strengthen the damage to almost double and decrease the Stratagem Cooldown, so coordinate with your team when you want to use this.
Trivia
- The Liberator is massively inspired by Helldivers 2.
- The unique placement limit is referencing how you can have up to four players in a team in the game.
- The stratagems are also inspired by the actual Stratagems in Helldivers 2, with them having the exact names.
- Level 3 and 4's upgrade names are references to titles in Helldivers 2.
