The Ninja is a hardcore tower that attacks enemies with shurikens or a katana depending how close they are from its range. It can be purchased from the store for
3,250 and has a level requirement of Level 50.
- "A range & melee tower. Throws shurikens when afar; slashes with its katana when up close."
- ―Store Description
The Ninja has two range rings: a large ring for ranged attacks, and a small ring for melee attacks. The weapon Ninja depends of which weapon the player chose to be its primary weapon. However, if the enemies are not within its primary weapon range ring, the Ninja will use its secondary weapon. Although, this doesn't have an effect for shurikens. Shurikens deal single target burst damage, while the katana deals damage to three enemies in a 180° arc. This makes it a hybrid tower. The Ninja also has a unique passive, where stuns would affect this tower for 1.5x longer. However, the Ninja cannot be targeted by any enemy and can only get indirectly stunned from them. At level 2, the Ninja would be able to apply poison damage to enemies with all weapon types. At level three, the Ninja unlocks the doku bomb. It deals splash dmaage and creates a puddle of acid, which damages enemies. The puddles last for 10 seconds.
The Ninja also has a unique ability called Bombin' In, where it can temporarily convert the tower into a unit that spawns from the base entrance. Upon Activation, it throws a smoke bomb on the ground where it's standing. Upon exploding, the smoke clusters into three Doku Bombs targeting the First, Strongest, and Last enemies. After that, it converts into a unit that has a speed of 7 and doesn't have a burst cooldown. After every third shuriken thrown, the doku bomb is thrown every three seconds. The damage from its katana is also doubled in unit form.
At level five, the Ninja will throw three doku bombs instead of one, targeting the First, Strongest, and Last enemies. The other two bombs would deliberately miss if there's only a single target. its poison would apply slowdown to enemies if they are burned, which slows them down by 50%. It will then linger for two seconds after the poison has already ended.

Strategy
edit- When first placing the Ninja for the early game, make sure that it is placed next to the path to utilize its katana, while being far away enough to utilize the high range of its shurikens, similar to the Necromancer.
- When placing the Ninja, keep in mind that it takes 1.5x longer duration from stuns. However, with its Hidden attribute, the Ninja should all be grouped up and placed at areas where other towers are not nearby. Though, it's not that necessary.
- Despite all of this, the Ninja could still be affected by stuns that have mapwide range.
- The Medic's stun cleanse can completely mitigate this issue.
- The Ninja could also be used as a mid to late game DPS option, similar to that of the Turret, Accelerator, Engineer and Golden Minigunner.
- With its Katana, the Ninja can be useful in handling crowds of enemies, similar to the Gladiator.
- Despite its poison being able to damage enemies with Lead, it is not recommended to rely on poison against lead enemies, such as the Knight from Pizza Party.
- The Ninja can detect hidden and flying enemies really early on, making it useful for the Fallen Seraph in Fallen Mode and the Ghost in Pizza Party.
- When using Bombin' In, make sure that it is activated at a time where the Ninja doesn't take damage shortly after activation.
- The Field Medic can help mitigate this issue.
- With its scapegoat, the Ninja redirect enemy attacks against it, while possibly supporting other towers away from it. This could be useful against enemies with directional attacks, such as the Molten Executioner, Fallen Honor Guard, Fallen Guardian, Knight, Minigunner, Executioner (Pizza Party), Templar and Nuclear Guardian.
- It is recommended to pair the Ninja with the Pyromancer, Trapper, Hallow Punk and Firework Technician, as these towers can apply the burn needed to slow down enemies without the need of a stall tower.
- Players can also utilize the Molotov, Napalm Strike and Molten Monster to do this as well.
- It is recommended to bring the Commander to boost firerate and increase its DPS.
- It is also recommended to bring the DJ Booth to discount its upgrades and slow down enemies to maximize damage output.
Trivia
edit- This is the secret ninja tower.
- The Ninja is a combination of other towers, which are the Gladiator, Soldier, Toxic Gunner and Jester. However, it was not inspired by the Slasher, because it was forgotten when the tower was in development.
- The Ninja as a concept predates the Assassin.
- The Ninja would be the first evergreen poison tower, as no towers that aren't exclusive can apply poison.
- The Ninja would be the first and only tower to have the ability to convert itself into a unit.
- The Ninja would also be the first and only unit that spawns with zero health.
- The level two upgrade name "Doku" is a Japanese word, meaning poison.
- The total cost of the Ninja is $32,420, which is a reference to 32 and the 420 meme.
- The Ninja has a legal name. Its name is Chīsana Hiretsuna.
- Chīsana Hiretsuna is a combination of two Japanese words, meaning "Teeny Sneaky".

Notes
edit- ↑ Firerate only applies to the burst and is not the time between bursts.
- ↑ Total Elapsed Damage is calculated as Poison Damage × (Poison Time ÷ Tick)
- ↑ Only if the enemy is burned and poisoned by the Ninja.
- ↑ DPS is calculated as (Damage × Burst Count) ÷ (Cooldown + (Firerate × Burst Count)).
When the Ninja is able to apply poison, DPS is calculated as ((Damage × Burst Count) ÷ (Cooldown + (Firerate × Burst Count))) + (Poison Damage ÷ Tick).
When the Ninja is able to throw doku bombs, it is calculated as ((Damage × Burst Count) ÷ (Cooldown + (Firerate × Burst Count))) + (Poison Damage ÷ Tick) + (Splash Damage ÷ (Cooldown ÷ (Firerate × Burst Count)))
DPS assumes all shots poison the same enemy. - ↑ Total Elapsed Damage is calculated as Poison Damage × (Poison Time ÷ Tick)
- ↑ Only if the enemy is burned and poisoned by the Ninja.
- ↑ When Ninja is able to apply poison, DPS is calculated as Damage ÷ Swingrate + (Poison ÷ Tick)
DPS assumes all swings poison the same enemy.
DPS assumes that only one enemy is hit per swing.
