Description
The Golden Pyromancer is a golden perk for the Pyromancer, obtained from the Golden Crate for
If an enemy is set alight, the flames will be applied to the enemy until the burn time runs out. There are two types of damage the Golden Pyromancer can apply. The first is Normal Damage which is non-burn related. This can pierce through multiple enemies even damaging flying enemies, if its flames are large enough. However, the Golden Pyromancer cannot directly attack flying enemies at any level. The second is Burn Damage which is applied for every second an enemy is set alight. When an enemy is set on fire, it will be thawed if it is frozen. It also cannot be frozen while it is on fire. Depending on the level, these flames can stack, which can add up to very high damage over time across many enemies. Both damage types can damage lead enemies. The Golden Pyromancer will attack any enemy, even if the enemy is on fire. However, if there are multiple enemies in its range, it will attack the first enemy that is not on fire.

Strategy
- Burn stacking on the Golden Pyromancer works as follows; it will stack with other Golden Pyromancers that are able to stack until its stated limit, as well as once with a non-stacking Golden Pyromancer (Level 0, 2, 3 and 5).
- As a result, achieving the highest DPS with the Golden Pyromancer necessitates stacking as many Level 1 or 4 Golden Pyromancers as it allows, as well as one additional Level 0, 2, 3 or 5 Golden Pyromancer.
- The Golden Pyromancer's burn damage does not stack with other towers that deal burn damage, like the Archer.
- The Golden Pyromancer is a highly versatile tower that serves multiple purposes throughout the game.
- Early game, it functions as a high-damaging crowd control tower that can take care of hordes of weak enemies very well. It is recommended to have two Level 1 Golden Pyromancers placed down in addition to one extra Level 2/3 Golden Pyromancer to maximise DPS.
- Do note that early on, only Level 1 Golden Pyromancers are able to detect hidden enemies. All levels are able to damage leads with both regular and burn damage, so it is an effective counter to Leads and Lead Bosses.
- Later on, the Golden Pyromancer shifts its role to a support and/or supplementary damage tower, depending on what you deem necessary for your defense.
- If you are aiming for as much damage as possible, eight Level 4 Golden Pyromancers (or however many you see fit) paired with one Level 5 Golden Pyromancer will output maximum damage. If you intend to place even more Golden Pyromancers than this, they should be Level 5.
- If you intend on using the Golden Pyromancer for support and would rather place down other DPS towers, having one Level 5 Golden Pyromancer to drop the defense of enemies is most ideal.
- Early game, it functions as a high-damaging crowd control tower that can take care of hordes of weak enemies very well. It is recommended to have two Level 1 Golden Pyromancers placed down in addition to one extra Level 2/3 Golden Pyromancer to maximise DPS.
- The Golden Pyromancer will set every enemy in its range on fire. In what order the Golden Pyromancer will choose its target is based on its targeting.
- If there is only one detectable enemy in the Golden Pyromancer's range, then it will always target that enemy. This also occurs if all current enemies in the Golden Pyromancer's range is set on fire.
- Be aware that if an enemy is quick enough, such as the Error or Circuit, they may get out of the Golden Pyromancer's range before they are set on fire.
- When an enemy is on fire, it cannot be frozen by freezing towers like the Freezer. Additionally, when a frozen enemy is set on fire it will thaw, making freezing towers less effective with the Golden Pyromancer.
- The Golden Pyromancer is less effective against those with burn immunity, such as the Molten.
- However, the Golden Pyromancer can still deal non-burn damage to them.
- The Golden Pyromancer can be used alongside other defense dropping towers, like the Freezer, Electroshocker or Toxic Gunner to drop it further, though it cannot be used alongside the regular Pyromancer. With these towers, an enemy's defense can be removed entirely.
- Do note that this may be impractical as it requires you to bring several support towers, even though the tower slot could be used for more important DPS towers.
- The Golden Pyromancer is best placed near the beginning of the path. This lets it kill weaker enemies and decrease defense of enemies before they reach your other towers.
- The Golden Pyromancer will not be able to set enemies on fire when placed on high grounds, like ones on The Heights.
- Because of the Level 5 Golden Pyromancer's flame size, it can set flying enemies on fire, if there is a detectable enemy near it.
- Golden Pyromancers that are below Level 5 will not be able to set them on fire, as their flame size is too small to be able to hit them. However, the Lead Balloon can still be set on fire if it had lost one of its balloons.
Trivia
- The Level 5 upgrade's name comes from Kagu-tsuchi, in classical Japanese mythology.
Notes
- ↑ Flying enemies may be hit and/or burned indirectly if another detectable enemy is nearby, but this tower can never directly target flying enemies.
- ↑ Total Elapsed Damage is calculated as Burn Damage × (Burn Time ÷ Tick).
- ↑ DPS assumes the flames only hit one enemy.
Total DPS is calculated as Normal DPS + Burn DPS.
Burn DPS is calculated as Burn Damage ÷ Tick. - ↑ 3.88 Normal DPS + 4 Burn DPS
- ↑ 3.88 Normal DPS + 2 Burn DPS
- ↑ 7.75 Normal DPS + 6 Burn DPS
- ↑ 11.63 Normal DPS + 10 Burn DPS
- ↑ 3.88 Normal DPS + 20 Burn DPS
- ↑ 15.5 Normal DPS + 24 Burn DPS
