Overview

edit

The Golden Pyromancer is a golden perk for the Pyromancer, obtained from the Golden Crate for   50,000, if you own the Pyromancer. It retains the core mechanics of the standard Pyromancer but offers unique enhancements and early-game accessibility. The Golden Pyromancer is cheaper at lower levels, with many abilities shifted backward to enable earlier progression. Its signature passive grants 1.25x cash from any burning enemy on the field, regardless of which tower applied the burn, making it an excellent economic asset.

Unlike the normal Pyromancer, the Golden variant unlocks the Afterburn passive by level 3, allowing it to create damaging walls of fire much earlier. Additionally, at max level, it bypasses burn resistances from attributes like Burn Immunity and Lantern, dealing full damage to typically immune enemies. While slightly more expensive at the highest levels, the Golden Pyromancer provides superior value through potent burn effects, improved crowd control, and boosted income generation, making it a powerful and versatile upgrade for any strategy.

Pros and Cons

edit
Pros Cons
  • Early-level cost reduction and faster progression make the Golden Pyromancer easier to use in early and mid game
  • Passive effect grants 1.25x cash from any burning enemy regardless of source, boosting overall income
  • 1.25x cash effect stacks with Wire Fraud from the Hacker
  • Afterburn passive unlocks at level 3 instead of maximum level, increasing early-game AOE and burst damage
  • Bypasses burn resistance at max level, dealing full burn damage to enemies with Burn Immunity and Lantern, being especially effective against enemies like the Fallen Hazmat
  • Retains strong crowd control with stacking burn and defense reduction from standard Pyromancer traits
  • Synergizes well with other damage-over-time towers, enhancing overall DPS
  • Afterburn benefits from external buffs (e.g., Mercenary Base, DJ Booth), scaling damage effectively
  • Infinitely pierces enemies with Afterburn wall, increasing potential damage spread on crowded waves
  • Slightly more expensive at max levels compared to the standard Pyromancer
  • Income bonus passive requires enemies to be burning, making it less effective if burn is disabled or if few enemies are on fire
  • Still vulnerable to single-target DPS issues when facing bosses despite burn improvements
  • Reliance on burn status makes it less effective against very fast or resistant enemies until key upgrades
  • Afterburn cooldown and lingering duration remain a factor affecting the consistency of damage application
  • Competes with other crowd control options, and may be outperformed in certain high-cost, late-game scenarios

Lore

edit

After the T.D.S. Organization crafted the Golden Armor for the Pyromancer, he unlocked an incredible new ability: the power to burn any foe that crossed his path. This advancement propelled him swiftly through the ranks, as he became the preferred choice to face the relentless waves of enemies invading their territory. Yet, despite his fiery prowess, the Pyromancer harbors a growing unease—zombies may soon adapt to his tactics, and the looming threat of Pumpking Ominous fills him with dread. Whatever trials lie ahead, he is determined to stand his ground. Because even if victory is uncertain... he will never stop trying.

Trivia

edit
  • The Golden Pyromancer's design was created in a single hour.
    • This was especially impressive for the creator, since he found this design to be the most satisfying.
  • The Golden Pyromancer was planned to have a different render. This depicted the Golden Pyromancer donning a pose similar to that of the maximum level Pyromancer.
    • However, this design was ultimately scrapped due to the pose looking rather outdated and did not fit the tone the creator intended to depict.
  • Due to his efficiency and ability to clear operations with ease, the Pyromancer has been given more opportunities to cook for his comrades.
    • Characters like the Dispatcher and Cryomancer state that his cooking is superb.
      • His secret? Sprinkling edible gold on his food.
  • Speaking of the Cryomancer, the Pyromancer is attempting to make things right with her. after the Haunted Harvest operation, he plans to buy her a 100 dollar   Robux gift card as a cease fire.
    • He also plans to give her an ice cream cone to make up for his mistake back when they were little.
