Fallen Skeleton
Description
The Fallen Skeleton, which uses a display name of Skeleton in-game, is an enemy that appears in Fallen mode, Fallen Arena PVP mode, Badlands II and The Takeover Event. The Fallen Skeleton can be spawned by the Fallen Necromancer. In Badlands II, it is turned into a Hidden enemy for all of its natural spawns.
Logbook Description
"Fallen Skeletons are the remains of those who died as the magic began to fade. The Fallen Necromancers discovered they could bind these bones with cursed energy, giving them life once more. Now, they rise from the ground to serve as shields for their summoners as some wander aimlessly within the army. In death, they finally have purpose, though it is not the kind they had hoped for."
Appearance
The Fallen Skeleton is made entirely of desaturated sand colored parts that resemble a skeletal humanoid. It does not have a full torso, but instead has the bone cage for it. Its head is much smaller and is shaped like a skull, with a part of the spine column attached to it. It emits light blue flames from its eye sockets.
On death, the Fallen Skeleton falls into a pile of bones while playing a bone shaking sound.
Strategy
- The Fallen Skeleton has much more health than both the Abnormal and Quick, making it quite dangerous against weak defenses. It is therefore best to invest in additional defense before and after it appears.
- Great early game DPS towers like the Brawler, Militant, Shotgunner and Ace Pilot can deal with the Fallen Skeleton.
- Stronger towers such as the Minigunner and Hunter can fare against it more effectively if you can afford them. Utilizing the Farm and Cowboy are reccommended to boost your income in case you plan to do so.
- Later on in the game, after the Fallen Necromancer makes its debut, the Fallen Skeleton can be a threat as many can be summoned by the Fallen Necromancer if it is not killed quickly, leading to other problems.
- Killing the Fallen Necromancer before it can summon any Fallen Skeletons is recommended.
- Towers like the Soldier, Golden Scout, Militant or Ace Pilot can be quite effective against this.
- High DPS towers like the Minigunner and Accelerator can be prepared specifically for this enemy if early game towers are not enough, using the Farm to get them as they may be quite expensive.
- Do note that the Accelerator, if locked onto the Fallen Necromancer or other strong enemies, will ignore the Fallen Skeletons until the targeted enemy is defeated or leaves its range.
- The Ranger struggles against hordes of Fallen Skeletons due to its slow firerate. It can instead be set to Strongest to target and kill the Fallen Necromancer while other towers take care of the Fallen Skeletons.
- Area of effect towers, like the Mortar, Rocketeer or Gladiator can be quite useful as they can damage all the Fallen Skeletons when they are in a group, as well as the Fallen Necromancer at once.
- While you cannot earn any money from the Fallen Skeleton outside of Badlands II as it appears as a summoned enemy later on, you can still gain money from the Fallen Skeleton when it appears in the early game, as it spawns by itself, making it not a summoned enemy.
- The Fallen Skeleton moves at a somewhat fast pace. You may want to use support towers to slow them down, though this is not usually necessary.
- In the early game, cheap stunning towers like the Electroshocker can be utilized.
- Later on, the Sledger, Frost Blaster and a higher level Electroshocker are particularly effective as they can slow multiple Fallen Skeletons down at once. Additionally, their high damage makes them also useful at killing Fallen Skeletons.
