Description

[edit]

The Lava was an enemy which only appeared on Hardcore mode. Currently, it can only be spawned in Sandbox mode if the player has the Sandbox Plus+ gamepass. It has mediocre health for its debut and has average speed. However, its main ability is to heal 15% of its health back every second. If left undamaged, the Lava can easily become an issue.

The Lava can be spawned by the Void Reaver, Fallen Reaper (wave 38 onwards) and Molten Boss (on Hardcore mode only). The Mystery can also spawn the Lava upon its death in Hardcore mode, wave 38 onwards.

Strategy

[edit]

This strategy refers to the state of the game while the Invisible still appeared in the Hardcore mode.

  • Do not give time for the Lava to heal its health back.
    • Make sure that you concentrate all damage to them at once. If you spread out damage across the map, the Lava will have more time to heal its health back.
    • The Railgun Tank can collide with the Lava, instantly killing it or leaving it severely weakened. This reduces the efficiency of the Lava healing back its lost health.
    • Splash damage towers such as the Mortar can be quite effective against this, as they can hit multiple Lavas at once.
  • Fast firing towers, like the Minigunner, Accelerator and Turret, can be used to constantly attack the Lava, preventing it healing back any health.
    • The Ranger can also be used. However, do be aware that the Lava can heal back its health between shots due to its slow firerate.
      • The Commander's Call to Arms ability is highly recommended as it allows them to quickly deal damage towards the Lava.
  • Despite being a fire enemy, it is not immune to the Pyromancer which can mitigate the regeneration effect the Lava has.

Trivia

[edit]
  • There was an unused variant Lava that was added on the 15th of August 2019 and removed in the MEGA Update, but did not appear naturally.
    • It was meant to be added to the game proper, alongside the Frozen and Deep Freeze, but this was cancelled.
    • Therefore, the Lava could only be spawned by commands.
    • This version of the Lava could also regenerate health, similar to the current version.
      • It also had similar statistics, but it had 1,000 health instead of 700 and had Burn Immunity.
      • This was similar to the Molten's ability at the time, which could also regenerate health.
  • Although both enemies bear no resemblance to each other, the Lava's regeneration ability is similar to that of the Amalgamation.
  • Despite being a fire elemental enemy, the Lava does not have Burn Immunity.
  • The Lava looks similar to the old Lava from Tower Battles.

Update History

[edit]
  • 29 October 2020 - Overhaul v1.0.0
    • Lava added.
  • 5 June 2026 - v2.0.0
    • Lava removed from the main game, now appears exclusively in Sandbox mode.
    • No longer appears in the Index.
