Description
The Umbra was the final boss of the Solar Requiem Event. She lowkey bad. (on my life she is)
Logbook Description
“Umbra was born an orphan, and for the majority of her life she grew up alone, traveling from one orphanage to the next. One day, she snuck out and headed to the next town over, closer to the castle that ruled over the area, where living conditions were said to be better than in the run-down squalor of the kingdom’s outer parts. There, she found a farm run by a widow who took her in.
She never had any magic of her own, nor did she know it existed, until one day in the woods beyond the castle when she saw the prince practicing the magic his family had spent generations hiding. From then on, they met in secret beneath an old tree at the top of a stairway on the outskirts of town. No one would visit there, and they would often leave notes for each other to meet, or letters for the other to find. That old tree is where their relationship bloomed.
Eventually, the secrecy and weight of what they had become led them to a crossroads. How were they supposed to move forward together, she asked herself, when they could not even be seen with one another? In an attempt to set things straight, Penumbras ran to the castle. That would be her undoing.
The Queen could not risk a witness to her son’s secret. Magic was forbidden, and with no choice but to protect her family and its name, she branded Umbra a witch to keep her quiet. Umbra was marked for death, and the knights were sent to hunt her down. Penumbras escaped their arrest and ran to the tower so they could flee together, but he was captured soon after making sure she got away. Alone and on the run, she discovered the God Cube.
Inside, Lord Exo looked down upon her and found nothing but fragility, but he also sensed her determination. That driving force was the potential he saw. He gave her the power to serve him, making her a pawn in a plan he had already foreseen. Behind the scenes, the Narrator played his part, pushing them in the right direction.
Every domino fell where it needed to.
Within hours, her humanity began to slip away. In fear of losing herself, she hid what was left of it in a place only one person could find. Once her humanity had vanished, she came back for Penumbras, and when he refused to follow her, she made the choice for him.
Centuries later, in a fragment of history erased by the Rift Walker, TDS brought them both down.
Unfortunately, her role was not finished, and Lord Exo made sure she would fulfill it. He revived her by placing her crown on Dispatcher’s head, turning Dispatcher into her vessel. When she returned, her memories were scattered, and the tower was built from what was left of them.
At the top of the tower, as the eclipse reached its peak, she opened the gate to Paradise for Lord Exo. The humanity she had hidden away became the arrow, and using her bow, Penumbras shattered the crown he had made for her.
Being Umbra’s vessel left Dispatcher’s body permanently damaged. It is also the reason only she could see what followed. As the crown broke, Penumbras disappeared, and the spirits of Umbra and Penumbras appeared, together at peace. Where they once could not even be seen with one another, they now stood side by side, hand in hand. In the end, TDS had helped them save them both, and they could finally have their happily ever after.”
