Mystery

- Roulette enemies incoming!
These enemies will spawn MORE enemies upon death! Take them out quickly! - ―Commander dialogue on Wave 16 (Golden Mode)
Description
The Mystery is an enemy that debuts on wave 16 of Golden Mode. It has average health and speed, seeming weak at first. However, it possesses a special ability called Roulette Spawn which will spawn a random enemy and grant them a random attribute. If the Mystery possesses an attribute like Bloated by default, the effect will be carried over to its spawn along with a random attribute.
Appearance
The Mystery is a green, translucent enemy made entirely of glass. It has an arched posture and a glowing "?" on its torso. It also shatters with green fragments upon death.
Enemy Spawned
Interestingly enough, the Mystery does not spawn more enemies besides the shown on the ability despite the proportional wave scaling. Stronger enemies will spawn from upgraded Mystery variants like the Mystery 2, Mystery Boss, and Uber Mystery. While the enemies spawned by the Mystery are random, each enemy has specific chances of spawning. Here are all the enemies that can be spawned via Mystery:
- Both the Normal and Abnormal, with the spawning chances of 20%.
- Along with this, the Speedy and Quick can spawn with 15% chance.
- The hidden enemy, Ninja will spawn with a 10% chance.
- The tanky Blight and Heavy can be spawned via 30% chance.
- Finally, Balloons will be spawned with a 25% chance.
Strategy
- While the Mystery spawns relatively weak enemies, it should not be underestimated.
- They can spawn hordes of buffed enemies very quickly, so it is advised to bring splash towers like the Mortar.
- These enemies, especially when accompanied by any golden enemies that can apply Glimmer, can prove an immense threat.
- This is due to its ability to carry base attributes to its summon, meaning effects like Glimmer can stack with Nimble or Bloated.
- Despite all these outcomes, the Mystery can be dealt with relative ease.
- Indecently, summons will still produce cash. However, they will only give half the amount compared to its normal counterpart.
- If the Mystery is near the end of the path, keep it alive.
- This is due to the ability which can spawn a tanky enemy and end your run.

Trivia
- The appearance of the Mystery was originally based on the Mystery from Tower Battles.
- When the Super Mystery, Ultra Mystery and Uber Mystery were in the game, the Mystery was the only mystery enemy not to have glowing eyes.
- The Mystery has the most gamemode appearances, appearing in seven gamemodes total, alongside the Breaker, Breaker2, Breaker3 and Breaker4.
- However, all the breaker enemies currently appear in seven gamemodes, while the Mystery currently only appears in four.
- Prior to the Overhaul Update, in regular Fallen mode, the Mystery could spawn the Rusher, even though it is a Polluted Wasteland enemy and did not appear naturally in regular Fallen mode.
- The Mystery and Mystery Boss can learn to spawn new enemies even before its first wave appearance.
- The question mark on the Mystery is a re-textured version of the Question Mark accessory from the Roblox catalog.
- Prior to the Entity System Update, Mysteries summoned from the Summoner Boss could be stuck in the air.
- As the Mystery is always replaced by the Breaker2 with Enemies Beta active, it is currently impossible to see the Enemies Beta appearance of the Mystery.
- It was possible to see it on Polluted Wasteland II before the Halloween 2022 Update.
