Void Swordmaster
Description
The Void Swordmaster is a major boss from the Hardcore and Voidcore modes, spawning on Wave 43 and Wave 48 respectively. It has the highest health of all enemies that appeared before it and a slightly slow speed, eventually speeding up to be average.
The Void Swordmaster has three abilities:
- The first is Void Tear, where the Void Swordmaster slices the ground, creating four lines of four explosions forming a cross. Any tower hit by an explosion gets stunned for 10 seconds while units receive 150 damage. The Void Swordmaster itself will also gain Health Regen for 5.67 seconds while performing this.
- The second is Impaling Sword, where the Void Swordmaster impales the ground, creating multiple explosions that apply a 150% Fatigue Debuff and 12.5% Scared Debuff, which both last for 17.5 seconds. This ability also deals 500 damage to units and can hit up to 25 towers.
- The third is Undying Will, which triggers at half health. The Void Swordmaster gains 150,000 Shield Health, a 50% speed boost, and has its Impaling Sword cooldown halved.
Logbook Description
"The Void Sword Master is the commander of the Void Knights. Guided by the Void, he is deadly in his art. Void Caster, surprisingly, did not create the Void Sword Master. She found him. He’s a remnant of the Old World who had already made a name for himself, but he had no purpose to achieve. Seeing an opportunity, the Void Caster gave him one. The Void Sword Master does not speak often, and there is no record of him losing a fight. (Until today.) Void Caster trusts him completely, but even she does not know the extent of what he is capable of. Instead, she has decided there is not a need to."
Appearance
The Void Swordmaster has a black, muscular body and a glowing purple face. There are many spots on its body which are glowing purple. It wears a purple robe with gold accents and runes written on it, a black and gold belt, a gold armband on its left arm and a gold crown. On its back it carries two swords which it uses to attack towers and units with.
Strategy
- The Void Swordmaster is widely considered one of the greatest run-killers in Hardcore mode. It should be treated as a high priority target.
- High DPS towers like the Juggernaut. Accelerator or Turret are recommended for use against the Void Swordmaster.
- Do not underestimate the Void Swordmaster's speed, as it is one of the bosses with the fastest base speed, especially after using the ability Undying Will.
- Towers like the Freezer, Cryomancer and Sledger cannot freeze the Void Swordmaster, but they can add chill to it, slowing it down and giving more time to attack.
- Towers that apply stun, like the Electroshocker, Tesla and Warden can slow it too, yet these are less reliable either due to their stun times being quite low or, in the case of the Warden, the Void Swordmaster's size reducing it significantly.
- Towers like the Freezer, Cryomancer and Sledger cannot freeze the Void Swordmaster, but they can add chill to it, slowing it down and giving more time to attack.
- The Medic can be used to protect towers from the Void Swordmaster's Void Tear ability, as it stun time is rather long.
- Do note that, although it can be used to protect from stuns, it cannot grant immunity to debuffs such as those from the Impaling Sword ability.
- It is recommended to temporarily set one or two of your DPS towers to target the Last or the Weakest enemy to dispose of the Void Cultists that accompany the Void Swordmaster.
