This article is about Onett4smash/Riot. You may be looking for the toy version of this enemy, Rusher from Polluted Wasteland, Rusher from Polluted Wasteland II or Warden.

Description

The Riot is an enemy that only appears in Hardcore mode. Like the Rusher, it has a shield it holds in front of itself that can be broken. When it has its shield, it has very high health, is swift, has high defense and is a lead enemy. When it loses all of its shield health, its shield breaks, making it slower, decreasing its defense and removing the lead immunity.

The Riot can stun towers with its Baton Swing ability. It doesn't stop to move when performing this ability, unlike most other stunning abilities. It stuns only one tower at a time, but the ability can be performed quite often.

The Riot can be spawned by the Mystery Boss upon their deaths from wave 47 onwards.

Appearance

The Riot is similar to the Rusher. It has red skin. It wears a black helmet with a cracked visor, grey shoulder-pads, vest and knee-pads. It has a large grey riot shield that it runs with. It also wields a police baton. As the Riot runs, it holds its shield out, and continues to do so even when attacking with its baton.

Strategy

  • The Riot is a lead enemy when it has its shield out. As such, the Accelerator and Ranger are required to destroy its shield quickly, though this may prove hard due to the shield's immense health.
    • Once the shield is destroyed, all high DPS towers are fair game. Use of the DJ Booth and Commander is essential.
  • The Medic can help cleanse stuns from towers hit by its Baton Swing.
  • Towers should be positioned away from the path to avoid its Baton Swing.
  • The Military Base's Tank and Railgun Tank are decent options against the Riot as they can deal damage to it even with its shield out. Its fast speed is also countered by the collision damage.
  • As it is fast, the Toxic Gunner is useful at slowing it down.
  • Defense dropping towers like the Pyromancer are recommended to reduce its high defense.

Trivia

  • This, along with the Vindicator (Legacy), are the only Hardcore enemies not to be present during Hardcore Testing BETA.
  • Interestingly, this enemy had a Roblox toy of itself made before it was added to the game.
  • This enemy is similar in appearance to the Warden tower - both have a shield and baton, as well as body armor.
