Ability
Ability	Split - Upon its death, the Hex Corpse splits in half. Hex Corpse itself heals itself back to full health and changes its name to Lower Body, while also summoning the Upper Body.

Description

The Hex Corpse was an enemy that appeared in The Nightmare Realm and Containment in the Hexscape Event. It had moderately high health, defense and speed. Upon death it split into an Upper Body and a Lower Body. When transformed into Lower Body, it healed back to full health, though all of its statistics remained unchanged. On some waves, it could spawn with Bloated.

Appearance

The Hex Corpse had black skin and giant teeth covering face. It wore torn brown clothes. Its torso was cut in half. Upon turning into the Lower Body, its upper torso, head and arms disappeared, leaving only its lower torso and legs.

Strategy

• Early-game towers, like the Golden Crook Boss, Cowboy, Militant and Golden Soldier can be quite effective against this.
• The Hex Corpse turns spawn the Upper Body when killed, effectively doubling its health when it turns into the Lower Body.
  • Towers that can damage multiple enemies at once, such as the Pyromancer, Electroshocker or Mortar can be useful here.
  • As the Upper Body is significantly slower than the Lower Body, it is not as big of a threat as Lower Body.
• Defense dropping towers can be used to drop its defense. Such towers include the Pyromancer and Freezer.
  • Do note that the dropped defense will not be transferred over to the Upper Body, as that is a different enemy.

Trivia

• Hex Corpse and Lower Body looked like they were separate enemies, with Lower Body even having Hex Corpse's next to its name. However, this was not actually the case, as they were the same enemy, which could be seen in multiple ways.
  • Their statistics were identical, with the only differences being visual.
  • The Hex Corpse did not generate cash on death, implying it did not die. However, Lower Body did generate cash on death, despite being a summoned enemy which should make it impossible for it do so.
  • The Cowboy could generate cash from the Lower Body, despite the name suggesting it was a summoned enemy, which should be impossible. However, for the Upper Body, it could not generate cash from it.

  • Bug: Poison and electric defense dropping does not decrease Hex Corpse's defense.
  • Bug: Using the Gatling Gun's FPS ability does not deal damage to Lower Body.
  • Bug: Damage dealt to the Hex Corpse's regenerated health does not increase various damage based meters, like the Accelerator's overcharge or Engineer's scrap meter.
  • Bug: Units instantly kill the Hex Corpse upon collision after it has turned into the Lower Body.

  • Bugfix: Using the Gatling Gun's FPS ability now deals damage to Lower Body.
